ZIM vs PAK | Twitter in stitches as Kamran Ghulam’s bat slips into flight mode, leaving umpires smiling
A batter’s greatest asset is often his bat, but sometimes, even the most confident strokes can go awry. Pakistan’s Kamran Ghulam experienced this in the third ODI against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo when his bat slipped from his hand while attempting an audacious shot and left the umpires smiling.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and chose to bat, which paid off. Openers Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique got off to a strong start, reaching 46/0 in nine overs. After Ayub was dismissed by Faraz Akram, Shafique and Kamran Ghulam put on a 54-run partnership, with Shafique bringing up a half-century. Despite Rizwan's dismissal, Ghulam scored a maiden ODI century, finishing with 100 runs off 96 balls. Amidst this, there came a humorous moment when Ghulam’s bat slipped from his hand and landed near the square leg umpire.
On the first ball of the 45th over, Richard Ngarava came over the wicket and delivered a back-of-a-length delivery on middle and leg stump. Kamran Ghulam, aiming to play a big shot across the line, mistimed it completely. His bat slipped from his hand as he attempted the shot, sending it flying towards the square leg umpire. The bat landed near the umpire, while the ball trickled away to deep backward square leg for a single. The incident left on-field umpire Langton Rusere smiling, as Ghulam shared a lighthearted moment with him over the mishap. The comical situation quickly became a hit on Twitter, with fans joining in on the laughter

He's gotten there off 96 ball, and considering his first fifty runs took 59 deliveries, this effort is all the more impressive 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
