In response to a suit filed by three boxers, including Amit Panghal, about their non-selection for the 2023 Asian Games, the Boxing Federation of India stated before the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday that its selection procedure was completely "fair and transparent."

Amit Panghal, a silver medalist in the World Championships, sued the national federation after being left off the Indian squad for the Asian Games. He claimed that while at the national camp, he was "demotivated" and made to feel worthless.

Indian boxer Sumit secured a resounding victory to confirm the bronze medal in the 86kg category on the second day of Elorda Cup in Astana. Sumit dominated his quarterfinal bout against Bekzat Tangatar of Kazakhstan from the get-go and showcased his power and precision to win 5-0.
