Test cricket is known for adjustments to the conditions but seldom do we get to see a player adjusting for one’s short height. Temba Bavuma did a similar act after executing an upper cut six with a giant leap in the morning session of the first Test’s second day between Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Resuming from 80/4 after a rain-interrupted opening day, Temba Bavuma kept the South African side still despite wickets falling from the opposite end. He was the chief in propelling the Proteas to a fighting 191-run total, with a weird six off Lahiru Kumara being the shot of the day for the fans.

On the fifth ball of the 42nd over, Lahiru Kumara bowled a short ball into the right-hander who adjusted quickly as per the need. The skipper made quick room and leaped to get his bat’s middle half close to the centre of the ball. In the process, the right-hander ended up executing a perfect upper cut with the ball sailing over the third man ropes for a maximum. The Twitterverse acknowledged Bavuma’s effort in uplifting South Africa’s morale amidst adversity at home.
