Sri Lanka beats England in blind cricket tri-series
The Sri Lankan visually impaired cricket team has defeated England by 78 runs in the ongoing tri-series which also involves hosts India. The Indian blind cricket team is in a very good form and is yet to lose a game in the series which is being played in Bengaluru and Goa.
England captain Ed Hossell won the toss and opted to field first under hot and scorching conditions. England struck with the very first over with Justin Hollingsworth getting the wicket of Ajit Silva. But Despriya played a very good knock just missing out on the hundred and got the total up to 260 in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing a target of over 13 runs per over the English batsmen got off to a very good start and bought up the 50 run partnership. Wickets at the right time put hold on the chase and the English batsmen fell short by 78 run.
The Indian side defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets earlier in the series before winning their second game by a huge margin of 198 runs where Pankaj Bhue starred with both bat and ball by hitting a hundred and picking up three wickets in the second half to ensure the mammoth win for the hosts at Samprasiddhi Sports Estadio in Bengaluru.
