Rafael Nadal is unsure about his participation in the Wimbledon as he would wait to see how his body recovers after a taxing clay court season. Having longevity of his career in mind, the two-time Wimbledon champion will consult his team and coach Carlos Moya before taking the big call.

Rafael Nadal's confidence would be at an all time high after he powered his way through his favorite clay season to clinch Monte Carlo title, Rome Masters, and Barcelona Masters. The good warm-up was met by a perfect ending as he lifted his 11th French Open title last week.

However, the season started on a wrong note when Nadal got injured early on in the season in Australian Open. Hence he might have to choose his rest of the season with precautions that would keep his form and focus intact. Hence after a successful but tiring clay court season, Nadal might opt out of Wimbledon.

When asked about his participation he replied "Difficult for me to think about it now. I had a long and mentally tough clay court season, of course, because I played almost all the matches possible after coming from an injury. So it was a demanding two months for me," said Nadal, reported Reuters.

Nadal has been an official participant in the Queen’s Club tournament scheduled next week, however, he would arrive at a decision only after knowing his body’s condition after few days. “I would love to play in as many places as possible, but you understand how I need to check how I feel in next couple of days.”

The transition from the slow and bouncy clay courts to the fast and low bounce grass court could be tricky for Nadal at this stage of career, especially with his tryst with knee injuries over the years. So, taking a leaf out of Federer’s book, Nadal and his coaching team are contemplating the decision of his participation in Wimbledon.
