PKL 2019 | Made mistakes in both departments in second half, opines Krishan Kumar Hooda
Dabang Delhi coach Krishan Kumar Hooda has stated that the team made mistakes in both raiding and defence in the game against Gujarat Fortunegiants in the second half and that is why they lost the game. Hooda also said that the team kept on fighting till the last raid with a mindset of winning.
In a battle of the two unbeaten teams till yesterday, Gujarat Fortunegiants edged past Dabang Delhi KC in Mumbai by 31-26. Despite the loss, Delhi still managed to get a point as the defeat was below seven points last evening. The game was evenly-poised till a Delhi all-out in the second half which turned the game in Gujarat’s favour.
Delhi coach Krishan Kumar Hooda talked about the performance of his boys in the second half of the match and the reason behind their defeat at the post-match press conference.
“We made mistakes both while raiding and defending in the second half. It was a very close match and luck also played its part. Gujarat Fortunegiants are also a very good team, no doubt, but so are Dabang Delhi K.C.. Today, we missed two or three opportunities and that led to our defeat,” Hooda told reporters.
Young raider Naveen Kumar had a great day on the mat for the Delhi side again as he completed yet another Super 10. However, his performance was not enough to ensure a win for the team from the national capital which kept on fighting till the last raid of the match.
“Yes, we kept fighting till the last raid because we were of the mindset that we have to win, but the result didn’t go our way,” the Delhi coach concluded.
