With the clock ticking for the FIH Women's World Cup in Netherlands and Spain, the women's core group currently is in a preparation camp at the SAI Centre in Bengaluru. Having a strong pool of players who have performed well at the FIH Pro League and Junior World Cup being called up for the camp.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has confirmed that India is among the three nations who have presented their bids to host the next edition of the men’s World Cup. Hockey India, who has played host thrice previously, wants to conduct the event in the January 13 to 29, 2023 window.

Sjoerd Marijine has asserted that the schedule for the Indian women hockey team, which includes back to back two major tournaments, is not too heavy and there are sufficient gaps to keep the girls refreshed. He added that the girls have worked hard and are determined to do well at the World Cup.
