The Indian football team, also known as the Blue Tigers, slipped two places in the latest FIFA rankings -- at 107th. India played out a draw and also posted a win against neighbours Nepal (world no.168) in the friendlies played recently in Kathmandu, which saw them lose some crucial points.

Indian forward Rahim Ali, who made his International debut against Nepal on Thursday evening, admitted that the senior players of the squad have been extremely supportive towards him. Even though India settled for a 1-1 draw against a low-ranked Nepal side, Rahim was awarded the 'Man of the Match'.

The Indian football team landed in Kathmandu ahead of their friendly matches against Nepal on September 2 and 5, which is Blue Tigers' first assignment following the 2022 WCQ. The entire squad was undergoing a training camp in Kolkata, having also played a couple of practice matches in the city.

Indian national football team coach Igor Stimac has announced a 2-member squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Nepal on September 2 and 5. With most of the players undergoing national camp in Kolkata, the ATK-Mohun Bagan players recently joined the camp after their AFC Cup assignment.
