Manchester City is a consistent team full of wonderful footballers, exclaims Jurgen Klopp
Jurgen Klopp has praised rivals Manchester City's consistency in the Premier League and admitted that the team is well-rounded with a bunch of talented footballers playing for the side. City and Liverpool are in the midst of a heated title race with the Merseyside club trailing them by four points.
Liverpool are in the mix of achieving a historic quadruple this season as they aim to stake their supremacy across domestic and European competitions. The Merseyside club have already claimed the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup as they beat Chelsea in two domestic cup finals through penalties on both occasions.
Jurgen Klopp will look to lead his side through to Premier League and Champions League glory by the end of the season. The Reds have secured their place in the finals of the European competition after eliminating Villarreal in the semi-finals and have set up a feisty encounter against Real Madrid in the finals.
The English side is neck and neck with Manchester City in a heated title race in the top flight of English football with the Merseyside club just four points behind although they have a game in hand in which they face Southampton on Tuesday to reduce the gap to one. Klopp was complimentary of Pep Guardiola’s side and remarked on their consistency.
“The consistency City show, the quality they have… it's a team full of wonderful footballers. And the most challenging thing is when you have these talented boys to make it clear the importance of throwing everything on the pitch - and they do it! I really respect that a lot, and we do it as well. It's the same mix,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
"We are different teams with similar skills and the levels we push each other to are absolutely crazy. And look, being just around them without qualifying for finals would be not that cool because being even a point behind them is still a point behind. But because we've qualified for finals, won two of them have another one to go for, that makes it a really enjoyable season,” he added.
