Daniel James deserves his place in the Wales squad, claims Ryan Giggs
Former Manchester United player and club legend, Ryan Giggs, has heaped praise on new Manchester United signing Daniel James, as the 21-year-old continues to impress with his performances. James has scored 3 times in 4 United appearances after a £15 million move from Swansea this year.
Daniel James went on to score the only goal of the match and stayed on the pitch for 50 minutes until he was replaced by Gareth Bale, during Wales’ victory against Belarus in friendly game. The Wales National team coach, former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs, is happy with what the winger has to offer, even though he admitted he was a bit uncertain over starting James for the friendly, reports Goal.
When asked about the match-winning goal from James after the match, Giggs replied, “It’s a difficult one, he’s had a tough couple of months. All of a sudden he’s getting the headlines. Do you rest him, do you keep him in? And he wanted to play. [I just] gave him 50 minutes and he deserved that goal. He’s one of those players where you know what he’s going to do, but you can’t stop him.”
The Premier League is set to return this weekend and all eyes will be on Daniel James, who almost signed for Leeds United before joining the Red Devils this summer. Manchester United will face Brandan Roger’s Leicester City this week at Old Trafford and will be looking to bounce back after a string of disappointing results.
