ISL 2019-20 | Kerala Blasters coach Eelco Schattorie urges fans to be patient and keep supporting them
Kerala Blasters FC head coach Eelco Schattorie urged the fans to be patient and keep supporting them ahead of the new ISL season which begins on October 20. The two-time finalist had a shambolic outing last season having finished at the 9th position in the league with just two wins.
Eelco Schattorie, who guided Northeast United FC to their first-ever top-four finish in the Indian Super League last season was roped in by Kerala Blasters FC earlier this year. The Dutch will shoulder the burden of bringing back their glory days when the new season kick-off, but he urges the fans to be patient and keep supporting their club.
“In football, you need a good start and if you have that start and if you have that start the momentum keeps coming. But if you fail to get that start the momentum keeps coming. But if you fail to get that start people begin to complain. Hopefully, we can overcome that,” said Eelco Schattorie as reported by The Times of India.
“And, I hope to get a good start to the season and keep the momentum going and if that doesn’t happen I want the supporters to be patient and keep on supporting the club. Because first, we are a new team. Secondly, we have a lot of young players. The thing with youngsters is that sometimes thy give everything and sometimes they will succumb to pressure since they don’t have much-needed experience. It’s all about patience,” added Eelco.
Kerala Blasters will begin their 2019-20 Indian Super League campaign in then curtain-raiser against ATK on October 20.
