Ready to fight to make the cut for Euro 2020, claims Alvaro Morata
Alvaro Morata has revealed that he will fight to make sure his name is a part of the 24-man Spain squad for the 2020 Euros. The Spaniard has found a place in Atletico Madrid after struggling with Chelsea and that has seen him make a comeback for Spain after missing out on the 2018 World Cup.
The 27-year-old did make a comeback for Spain after his moved from Atletico Madrid but missing out on the 2018 World Cup seems to have cost Alvaro Morata. But the former Chelsea star is hell-bent on making a return at the next international tournament with him playing a big part in helping Spain get there. The Spaniard netted four goals in five appearances in the European Qualifiers to ensure that La Roja makes the cut with only injuries preventing him from adding to that tally.
But with Rodrigo, Paco Alcacer, and even Gerard Moreno, all making an impact for Spain, Morata went on to admit that he’s more than willing to fight for his place in the squad. The 27-year-old also added that he will have to keep his form for the Los Rojiblancos going as well if he wants to have a chance of making the final squad for the Euros.
"I am confident on the pitch and I know I will have to give everything during the season in order to be at the European Championships. There won't be space for everybody. I want to keep going, doing everything I can for Atletico and Spain. If I play well at the club the Euros will be closer at the end of the season for sure," Morata told a news conference on Sunday.
