Granit Xhaka has admitted that it will take Arsenal at least four years before they can win a Premier League title. The North London side were brushed aside by Liverpool in their first top-six clash of the season and face a tough test against Tottenham in the North London derby tomorrow.

The Gunners battle Tottenham at home in their second big six clash of the season and will be looking to improve on their 3-1 defeat at Anfield last week. They were handed a lesson in clinical finishing by Jurgen Klopp’s side, with Mohamed Salah scoring a brace to put the game well past Arsenal in the second half.

This saw Unai Emery talk about the vast difference between the two sides, with the Spaniard pointing out the fact that Jurgen Klopp has had a longer period of time to work on the Reds. Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has pointed out the same situation, adding that it will take the North London giants at least four years to get their hands on a title.

“We know Liverpool’s players and Klopp have been working together for three or four years. We had new staff last year, we are improving our way and we need some time as well. With Liverpool, the first Premier League season with Klopp was not the best,” said the Swiss international reports the Mirror.

“You can see how they’ve improved and how it can work if you are together more than three or four years. They are a good example of where we can be in three or four years but we want to make a good season this year and be back in the top four. We lost the game [at Anfield].

“You can lose a game and we are not the only team that have lost there. I don’t think it was a bad game for us. We were good defensively, very strong. The first goal killed us a little bit before half-time but it’s the past and we want to speak about the future. We have had a great week and we know how big the game on Sunday is,” concluded Xhaka.
