Reports | Manchester United and Inter Milan yet to reach a deal over Alexis Sanchez
Manchester United and Serie A giants Inter Milan are yet to come to an agreement over a move for Alexis Sanchez, with the Italian side hoping to deal the done as soon as possible. The Chilean forward is one of Antonio Conte’s top targets but his wages are proving to be a big problem for both sides.
While Inter Milan were hoping to sign Alexis Sanchez on loan this week, getting to an agreement with Manchester United has proven to be easier said than done according to the BBC. The Red Devils want to let the Chilean forward leave the club this summer but his salary has proven to be a massive roadblock for both sides.
The 30-year-old currently earns around £390,000-a-week, which is not what Inter are willing to pay him if a move does take place. Instead, the Serie A side are offering the former Arsenal attacker something around £150,000-a-week, which is half of what he earns right now. But therein lies the issue, as Manchester United finds this offer unacceptable despite Sanchez being keen on the move.
The Mirror further reported that the Red Devils are unwilling to pay Inter Milan to take the 30-year-old, adding that United would have to shell out close to £36 million for the move to take place right now. That is something that the Old Trafford side have categorically stated that they will not do, which does complicate things for Inter Milan.
However, negotiations between the two sides are still ongoing with United keen on letting Sanchez leave, unless Solskjaer has a change in heart before the European transfer window closes.
