Reports | Chelsea looking to offload Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has once again left Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater at home with both stars struggling to impose themselves. This is the second time it has happened this week and while Lampard has said that he will not sell anyone, it is unlikely that duo will stay.
Newly appointed Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has once again left Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater at home. This is the second time it has happened this week, although Lampard has said that he will not sell anyone, it is unlikely that duo will stay at the club.
While Tiemoue Bakayoko spent his entire season on loan last year, at AC Milan, Danny Drinkwater was forced to watch football. The Frenchman performed well in Italy, but had a skirmish with the former manager Gennaro Gattuso towards the end.
On the other hand, despite staying at Stamford Bridge, Drinkwater did not play a single minute under Maurizio Sarri last season. That has caused a few issues, and with the Premier League set to begin in a week, both players have failed to impress.
That has seen reports emerge that the Blues are open to either a loan move or a permanent transfer for the pair. The transfer ban imposed on Chelsea means that they have to promote some of their younger players into the first team.
The addition of Christian Pulisic before the transfer ban was imposed and keeping Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club will be key to any performances. With the new season set to begin next week, Chelsea fans are quite hopeful to see their legendary player excel, with the Blues playing Manchester United in their opener.
