The International Cricket Council has confirmed the United Arab Emirates as the new venue for the latest edition of the Women's T20 World Cup after political turmoil in Bangladesh made it impossible to host the tournament there. The matches, beginning October 3, shall be played in Dubai and Sharjah.

According to a recent development, UAE will host Afghanistan for a three-match T20I series once in each of the next five years. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) have signed an agreement thus stating that Afghanistan will host their home games in UAE as a result.

Rohan Mustafa is the most notable absentee in the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Mustafa, the all-rounder, is the most-capped T20I player for the UAE, having played 55 matches in which he aggregated 984 runs and took 61 wickets.

The Asia Cup groups are finally complete after Hong Kong ended the qualification stage unbeaten and ensured their entry into the main draw at the cost of the United Arab Emirates. This will be their fourth appearance in the tournament and a second consecutive one having also qualified in 2018.
