Sachin and Rohit to open in Chawla’s all-time India ODI XI
Selecting an all-time greatest team in any sport is both a fascinating and subjective challenge. Indian veteran spinner Piyush Chawla’s opinion was voiced through the Shubhankar Mishra Youtube channel recently where he picked Indian stars that have dominated in ODIs across eras.
Chawla stated he would loved to open his side with two of the greatest white-ball cricketers from the Mumbai shores. Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma cemented the opening spots while Virender Sehwag was selected to bat out of position due to his X-factor. The No. 4 position belonged to Virat Kohli, who already racked up 13906 runs at an average of 58.18 in the format. Yuvraj Singh and Kapil Dev were included as an all-rounders with MS Dhoni dining the gloves and acting as a finisher of the side. The bowling front constituted of two spinners in the form of Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble, who rolled their arms together for a considerable amount of time. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Zaheer Khan were named as the pacers of the line-up, offering enough depth in the form of left and right-arm operation
Chawla was recently seen in action for the Mumbai Indians during the 2024 Indian Premier League where his side finished at the bottom of the league table.
Piyush Chawla’s all-time India ODI XI: Sachin Tendular, Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Jasprit Bumrah, Zaheer Khan.
