India continued their winning streak beating Bangladesh by 50 runs in Antigua. Hardik Pandya’s half-ton coupled with Shivam Dube’s quickfire took India to 196/5 whereas Bangladesh faltered in building partnerships and with no batting firepower,lost the contest as India inched closer to Semi Finals.

India was put to bat first after Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got off to a cracking start, racing to 29/0 in three overs. However, Rohit's cameo was cut short by Shakib Al Hasan in the fourth over, with the Indian talisman walking back after scoring 23 off 11 deliveries. With Kohli and Rishabh Pant at the crease and the wicket slowing down, India reached 56/1 at the end of seven overs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib then turned the game momentarily in Bangladesh's favour by dismissing both Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav in the ninth over, applying pressure on the Men in Blue. Despite this setback, Rishabh Pant and Shivam Dube built a steady 31-run partnership, taking the score to 97/3 in 11 overs. However, Rishad Hossain's spin claimed Pant's wicket in the 12th over who departed scoring 26 runs off 21 balls. After a couple of quiet overs, Hardik Pandya and Dube steadied the ship, bringing the score to 120/4 in 14 overs. The duo then accelerated the Indian innings, pushing the score to 155/4 in 17 overs. Dube's valiant innings of 34 off 24 balls was halted by Rishad in the 18th over. However, Pandya's explosive 50 off 27 deliveries propelled India to a formidable total of 196/5 in 20 overs.

In response, Bangladesh's openers Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan made a solid start taking their score to 27/0 in four overs. However, their momentum was halted when Hardik Pandya dismissed Das in the fifth over. Hasan and Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto then built a 31-run partnership guiding the score to 64/1 by the ninth over. The match turned in India's favour as Kuldeep Yadav struck twice in quick succession, removing Hasan and Towhid Hridoy in the 10th and 12th overs respectively. Kuldeep continued to dominate, dismissing Shakib Al Hasan in the 14th over with Bangladesh struggling at 98/4. With 89 runs needed off the last five overs, Shanto and Mahmudullah aimed to inject some urgency into Bangladesh's innings. However, their hopes dwindled further when Jasprit Bumrah claimed Shanto's wicket in the 16th over. Jaker Ali's departure in the 17th over further compounded Bangladesh's woes. With Mahmudullah and Rishad Hossain at the crease, Bangladesh faced an uphill task, needing 75 runs off three overs. Despite their efforts, the continuous fall of wickets limited Bangladesh to 146/8 in 20 overs. India secured a comprehensive victory of 50 runs, moving closer to the semi-finals. Their next challenge awaits against Australia in their final Super Eight match in St. Lucia on Monday.
