WATCH | Shakib Al Hasan goes speechless as Russell smashes 107-meter six off Haris Rauf
In an era where rockets and satellites regularly soar into space, few batters possess the power to metaphorically send a cricket ball there. But such was the spectacle in Major League Cricket when Andre Russell launched a colossal 107-meter six off Haris Rauf, leaving his teammates in awe.
The West Indian powerhouse walked in to bat in the 13th over following Kumar's dismissal. Russell took some time to find his rhythm but began his onslaught from the 16th over onwards, saving the most spectacular moment for the 20th over. On the third ball of the final over, Rauf delivered a short-length ball angled into the stumps. Russell used his flawless judgment as he stood tall and unleashed a mighty pull shot. The timing was impeccable, and the sweet sound of the bat carried the ball out of the ground for a maximum. The shot travelled an astounding 351 feet, marking the longest six of the season. The Knight Riders' dugout, especially Shakib, was momentarily in disbelief at the incredible display.
