In the latest version of the ICC rankings, Harry Brook and Mohammad Rizwan have made considerable progress after scoring big in their respective series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The latter reached his career-best ratings after a massive unbridled 171 in the first Test in Rawalpindi.

Brook jumped three spots to move to the fourth position in the Test batter’s rankings, with Joe Root, Daryl Mitchell, and Kane Williamson occupying the top three spots. He scored 56 and 32 in the two innings against the Lankans in the first Test in Manchester.

Yet another notable jump in the ICC rankings is of Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan. He is now tenth in the list, joint with Usman Khawaja. The 32-year-old reached 728 ratings, his career-best in the format. Rizwan bashed 171 and 51 in the first Test, becoming the highest run-getter in the series so far despite Pakistan’s first-ever Test loss to Bangladesh.

In addition, Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim jumped seven spots to reach the 17th position after a career-best 684 ratings. He scored 191 runs in the second innings of the first Test, stitching a match-defining impact for the visitors.

Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya’s five-wicket haul in Manchester helped him move to the ninth spot in the Test bowlers rankings while English all-rounder Chris Woakes upsurged to the eighth spot in the Test all-rounder list.

Following an impressive 3-0 whitewash against South Africa at home, West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran cemented the ninth spot in the T20I batters rankings. Meanwhile, spinners Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie moved to the second and third place respectively in T20I bowlers rankings.
