Bangladesh script history by winning their maiden Test in Pakistan and go one-up in the two-match series. Mushfiqur Rahim’s 191 and Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s all-round brilliance shut down Pakistan’s twin centurions - Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel - by chasing a 30-run target with ten wickets.

Pakistan’s batting lineup faced a challenging morning session at the start of Day 5. The day started with Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood continuing their overnight partnership. However, Hasan Mahmud struck early, dismissing the Pak skipper and breaking the stand. Babar Azam then joined Shafique, and the two managed to keep the scoreboard ticking. But Pakistan's progress was halted when Nahid Rana dismissed Babar, leaving them at 62/2. The situation quickly deteriorated as Shakib Al Hasan sent Saud Shakeel back for a duck, neutralizing the batter’s impressive knock in the first innings. Mohammad Rizwan and Shafique attempted to steady the innings with cautious play, but Shakib struck again, dismissing Shafique and adding to Pakistan’s troubles. As the session neared its end, Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed Salman Agha. By lunch, Pakistan was in deep trouble, struggling at 108/6 in 36 overs, trailing by nine runs, and losing five crucial wickets in the session.

Subsequently, Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck down Shaheen Afridi, making the most of the sharp turn and uneven bounce off the surface. Naseem Shah tried to deadbeat against the spinners but Shakib didn’t allow it for long despite the hosts getting a lead. Subsequently, Khurram Shahzad joined Rizwan for a 24-run stand with the former tapping the bowlers constantly. While Rizwan seldom attacking strokes helped him get past the half-century mark, Mehidy Hasan Miraz outwitted his plans with a chopped-on dismissal in the 55th over. In his next over, Miraz hit the final nail in the coffin by removing Mohammad Ali with Pakistan getting folded for 146. 

Arriving to chase down a paltry 30-run target, Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam didn’t hurry and played their natural game against the Pakistani attack of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah. Following four overs of pace, Salman Agha was greeted by a fantastic cover drive from Zakir reducing the target to single digits. With a couple of overs to follow, Zakir’s paddle sweep off a fuller ball at the legs steered the Tigers past the finishing line, scripting a new chapter in the history books.
