PAK vs BAN | Twitter reacts to Mushfiqur-Mehidy alliance frustrate hosts as Bangladesh takes command
On the fourth day of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Test in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh excelled with their batting. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz forged a 194-run partnership, giving their team a 117-run lead while Pakistan faced early setbacks in their second innings, losing Saim Ayub.
After lunch, the Mehidy-Mushfiqur partnership remained unstoppable, steadily frustrating the Pakistani bowlers. They built a formidable 140-run stand, with Mushfiqur showcasing his skill by reaching 150. The fatigue and frustration of the Pakistani team became evident as they struggled to find a breakthrough, trailing by 24 runs with Bangladesh’s score at 472/6 after 142 overs. A missed catch by Babar allowed Mushfiqur to continue his innings, and the pair controlled the entire second session. Both Mehidy and Mushfiqur were in fine form throughout, and Pakistan’s decision to forgo a frontline spinner meant they couldn’t secure any wickets during this period. By Tea, Bangladesh had advanced to 495/6, extending their lead to 47 runs.
Post-tea, the Mushfiqur-Mehidy duo continued to frustrate the Pakistani bowlers with their 196-run partnership. Mushfiqur kept up his impressive form with occasional boundaries, gradually moving towards a double century. Eventually, the Pakistan team found relief when Mohammad Ali dismissed Mushfiqur in the 157th over as departed at 191. With the wicketkeeper-batter's departure, Bangladesh's batting looked less assured, but Shoriful’s 22 off 14 balls helped them reach 565 runs, establishing a 117-run lead before being all out.
Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub began the second innings with Shoriful Islam bowling the first over for Bangladesh. The hosts faced an early setback as Shoriful dismissed Ayub in the third over. Shan Masood and Shafique then built a cautious 18-run stand, finishing the day at 23/1, trailing by 94 runs.

Time for truth
Now everyone would have realized that it was our bowlers who always let us down in every match. Babar Azam, as a captain wasn't this much bad, but our performance as a team has always been below the average... #BabarAzam #PAKvBAN #PakistanCricket pic.twitter.com/BwWqA70ygA
