Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das displayed resilience to recover to 316/5 by the end of Day 3 and trail Pakistan by 132 runs. Key partnerships, including an 81-run stand between Shadman and Mominul and an unbeaten 98-run partnership between Mushfiqur and Litton, kept Bangladesh in the fight on Day 3.

‌Resuming at 27/0 after 12 overs, overnight batters Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan took to the crease and focused on rotating the strike. However, their partnership was broken when Naseem Shah struck in the 17th over, dismissing Zakir Hasan. Najmul Hossain Shanto joined Shadman at the crease, and the pair tried to steady the innings. But Shanto's time in the middle was short-lived as Khurram Shahzad removed him in the 27th over, leaving Bangladesh at 53/2. Despite this setback, Mominul Haque partnered with Shadman to rebuild the innings. The duo countered Pakistan's tactics, which included short-pitched deliveries and strategic field placements, such as a deep square leg and deep cover. Shadman showed great composure and reached his half-century as he and Mominul stitched together an 81-run partnership. By Lunch, Bangladesh had progressed to 134/2, still trailing by 314 runs. 

After an extended Lunch, Khurram struck in the 52nd over, dismissing Mominul and ending the 94-run partnership. With pace from one end and spinner Salman Agha from the other, Pakistan captain Shan Masood sought to capture additional wickets during the session. But Shadman kept the scorecard ticking alongside Mushfiqur Rahim with Bangladesh tallying 195/3 in 63 overs, trailing by 253 runs. A pivotal moment in the match occurred when Mohammad Ali dismissed Shadman, who had scored 93 runs just as Tea was called. As Shadman and his teammates walked off the field, Bangladesh's score stood at 199/4 after 66 overs.

All attention then shifted to Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan to carry the innings forward after Tea. However, Saim Ayub’s dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan dealt a significant blow to Bangladesh’s hopes in the lower order. With the new ball arriving in the 82nd over, the last recognized batting pair of Litton Das and Mushfiqur were tasked with steadying the innings as the score reached 259/5 in 82 overs, still trailing by 188 runs. The pair forged ahead with a resilient 55-run partnership during which Mushfiqur notched up his 28th half-century. Litton then shifted gears and adopted an aggressive approach, hammering 18 runs off Naseem Shah in the 89th over. This burst of runs brought up his 17th half-century, as Bangladesh advanced to 309/5 in 90 overs. By the close of play after 92 overs, the Bangladesh score stood at 316/5, with the team trailing by 132 runs as the umpires called for stumps.
