Sometimes too much preparation for something might result in a disastrous ending. Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya's meticulously planned entrance turned disastrous as he faced his first ball, resulting in a golden duck during the Mumbai Indians' match against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Winning the toss proved to be a stroke of luck for the Lucknow Super Giants skipper as it set the stage for their early dominance. Rohit Sharma fell victim to Mohsin Khan in just the second over followed swiftly by Suryakumar Yadav's departure in the third over. The visitor's troubles deepened when the promising Tilak Varma was dismissed in the sixth over leaving the scoreboard at a precarious 27/3. However, his entry was short-lived as he fell on the very first delivery he faced.

Pandya made his way back to the pavilion as Tilak Varma had a dejected walk back after his dismissal, while the Indian all-rounder’s trademark confident stride seemed slightly flamboyish as he prepared to face the next ball. Additionally, Naveen-ul-Haq delivered a full-length ball tempting Pandya to play a straight drive but his attempt resulted in an unfortunate outside edge, easily caught by Lucknow skipper KL Rahul.
