Twitter reacts to Hanuma Vihari's exclusion from 17-man India squad for New Zealand Tests
Fans have questioned the exclusion of middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari from the 17-man India squad for the 2-Test series against New Zealand starting November 25 in Kanpur. Vihari, who averages 32.84 in the longest format, last represented India in the third Test against Australia in January.
In the match, the 28-year-old had played a match-saving knock of 161-ball 23 not out amid a severe hamstring injury.
"I got a painkiller injection. And got taped up. In my mind, I knew this is the innings I have to give it back to the team. I was thinking in my mind I have to do something and show the character and grit and determination. That I have to go and bat for two-and-a-half hours," he had told ESPNCricinfo talking about his innings in which he stitched a 62 run parterning off 258 runs with Ravichandran Ashwin to help India play a draw.
Vihari was part of India squad for the England series but did not get to play any match. However, he played a handful of county matches before feature in India's match against County XI ahead of the first Test. Very recently, he played four Syed Mushtaq Ali matches for Hyderabad and aggregated 94 runs from them.
If reports are to be believed, the right-hander might be added to India A squad which will travel to South Africa for three 4-day matches starting November 23.

He's so good at it and you see him getting dropped is what makes your day low!
Can we please talk about Hanuma Vihari's exclusion as well. The guy batted us through that scary Sydney last day wicket with a hamstring injury.

He definitely hould have played these!
Hanuma Vihari has no injury concerns, was fit for selection. My guess is, selectors will now try to draft him in 'A' squad & probably say he must get time in SA. Last-min damage control. Won't buy the theory. Hanuma should've been playing these Tests vs NZ. Period!

Absolutely no doubt in his performace!
Hanuma Vihari has performed well whenever opportunities were given to him...it would be good if the selectors can explain
