Didn’t find any special reason for keeping me out, claims Fawad Alam
Fawad Alam has shared that he doesn't seem to find a specific reason to not be included in the Pakistan cricket team even after having a tremendous record on the domestic circuit. Alam, who has played just three Tests for Pakistan with an average of 40 plus, last played the longest format in 2009.
Fawad, who last played a Test match in 2009, has represented Pakistan in 3 Test matches, scoring at an average of 41.66. Alam has played 164 first-class games and scored 12106 runs at an outstanding average of almost 57. Alam shared that it hurts to be left out of the national team despite those superb numbers as he added that it was never clear about why he was left out.
“Naturally it hurts. But, I am not losing hope. Hope sustains the world and has sustained me as well. I am not a big star player who can go and question the PCB or the selectors, but whenever I have talked to my colleagues, I didn’t find any special reason for keeping me out,” Fawad was quoted as saying by Geo News.
Alam backed his claims as he slammed a majestic double ton for Sindh in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy clash against Southern Punjab. Former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed denied reports of Alam complaining to him in his captaincy days as he shared that Alam let his bat do the talking.
“Fawad Alam has never complained to me about not being selected for the national team, he keeps on performing and the best way to answer (critics) is with bat. Fawad Alam’s best quality is that he keeps on answering with his bat,” Sarfaraz told PakPassion.
