KL Rahul included in India A squad for 1st four-day game against England Lions
The BCCI’s All-India Senior Selection Committee has today announced the squad for India A’s first four-day game against England Lions and the struggling KL Rahul has made the cut as well. The first of the two four-day matches will be played at the Krishnagiri Stadium, Wayanad, Kerala from Feb 7.
KL Rahul has had a difficult last few weeks as he, along with Hardik Pandya, was engulfed in the “Koffee with Karan” saga where the two Indian cricketers made some racist and misogynist statements. The duo was recalled from the Australia tour and suspended till the investigation was concluded. However, with the players missing multiple games, the CoA decided to end the suspensions until the Supreme Court appointed the Ombudsman in the next hearing.
While Pandya was immediately recalled to the senior team, Rahul was sent to represent the India A team that was playing against England Lions. The Indian team, that had already won the first two unofficial ODIs, won the next two as well with Rahul scoring 55 runs in two matches. That has seen the 26-year-old getting a call up for the A’s four-day series.
SQUAD : Ankit Bawne (C), KL Rahul, AR Easwaran, Priyank Panchal, Ricky Bhui, Siddhesh Lad, K.S. Bharat (WK), Jalaj Saxena, S Nadeem, Mayank Markande, Navdeep Saini, Sharadul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Varun Aaron
