Kuldeep Yadav is the only Indian player to be picked in ESPNCricinfo’s best T20 team of the year 2018. The T20 team is dominated by players from England as Jos Buttler, Joe Denly and Jofra Archer managed to find a spot for themselves in the final eleven which represents the best from 2018.

In the calendar year, 2018 Kuldeep Yadav managed to pick up 45 wickets at an average of 18 spending runs at 7.11 per over which fetched him a spot in the ESPNCricinfo’s T20 team of the year. But, he was the only Indian who featured in the eleven in which even Indian skipper Virat Kohli failed to get a spot.

The team has Aaron Finch at the top. Though he has struggled to make runs in the longer format of the game, it is a different story in the T20 format as he scored 1350 runs at a strike rate of more than 170 in 2018. To partner him at the top is Jos Buttler, who has found a place in the teams for all the three formats of the game. The year of 2018 was a good one for him as he amassed 1119 runs at a strike rate of almost 150. He has also been given the responsibility to keep wickets.

Kiwi all-rounder Colin Munro, who piled up 1530 runs, striking 151 runs per 100 balls, will be at number three in the batting order. He is also the lone New Zealander in the eleven. Babar Azam is the only Pakistani player and he made a place banking on the performance in which he scored 965 runs at the strike rate of almost 125 runs.

Former South African player AB De Villiers and England’s Joe Denly complete the middle order of the team. While De Villiers made 762 runs scoring almost 170 runs per 100 balls, Denly got 938 runs at the strike rate of 132. Andre Russel is the lone West Indian and also the only fast bowling all-rounder in the team. Russel has the highest strike rate of 183 in the team but has also scored the lowest runs amongst all with a total of 625.

Apart from Yadav, there is one more spinner in the team. In a year of recognition for Rashid Khan, he picked a whopping 96 wickets at the average of 15.46 with the economy rate being 6.35. Australia’s Andrew Tye and England’s Jofra Archer complete the bowling line up. Archer and Khan are also handy with the bat lower down the batting order for any team in the shortest format of the game.
