Smriti Mandhana in ICC Women's ODI and T20I Women's teams of the year
India Woman's cricket star Smriti Mandhana along with three other Indian cricketers have found their name on the ICC’s 2019 Women's ODI team. Mandhana is also named in the Women's T20I team of the year, which includes another Indian Deepti Sharma, with Meg Lanning leading both the teams.
Smriti Mandhana along with Jhulan Goswami, Poonam Yadav and Shikha Pandey, are amongst Indian women's cricketers in the ODI team of the year. All-rounder Deepti Sharma also named with Mandhana in the T20I side. The 23-year-old Mandhana has in combined 3,476 runs from her 51 ODIs and 66 T20Is appearances for India. Australia's Alyssa Healy was awarded the T20I cricketer of the year following her record-breaking 148 against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
Australia's Ellyse Perry, who scored 441 runs at an average of 73.50 and took 21 wickets at 13.52, bagged the ODI cricketer of the year award. Interestingly, Perry represented the Australian National Football team as well and represented in Olympic games as well. Multi-talented Perry also pocketed the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint award for being the cricketer of the year across formats.
Australian Meg Lanning was chosen as captain of both the ODI and T20 side. The emerging cricketer of the year award went to Thailand's Chanida Sutthiruang. The 26-year-old seamer took 12 wickets at this year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifier.
