Three Indian batsmen find places in the top five of ICC ODI batsmen rankings
The top two spots in the ICC ODI batsmen rankings are occupied by India's stunning pair Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, with Shikhar Dhawan being placed at the fifth position. Among the bowlers, India have two bowlers in the form of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav in the top five.
India lifted the Asia Cup after beating the valiant Bangladesh team in a close encounter in the finals. The series, which had some brilliant individual performances from the Indian players, has also boosted the rankings of these players. Starting from the stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma, who finished as the second highest run-scorer in the tournament with 317 runs, moved to the second position in the ranking improving by two spots. His partner in crime Shikhar Dhawan, the highest scorer in the competition with 342 runs to his name, jumped four spots to enter the top five.
In the bowlers' list, Jasprit Bumrah retained his place at the top of the table. Though he took only eight wickets in Asia Cup, Bumrah was the go to bowler for his captain whenever the skipper needed to choke the flow of runs. The chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav improved by three positions to finish at number 3 spot on the ranking table, thus making an entry into the top five. He added ten wickets to his kitty. His counterpart Yuzvendra Chahal remained stable at the 11th position.
The other Indian to make massive gains and marked his comeback to the ODI team with seven wickets in four outings was Ravindra Jadeja.
