Ranji Trophy | Elite A Day 2: Sheldon Jackson stars for Saurashtra against Chhattisgarh
Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson scored 147 runs in the first innings to take his side to a huge total of 475 against Chhattisgarh in an elite group A clash. In another game of the group, Maharashtra enforced a follow on on Vidarbha after they were bowled out for a mere 120 in the first innings.

Resuming their first innings, Saurashtra duo Sheldon Jackson and Arpit Vasavada toyed with the Chhattisgarh bowlers on a flat Rajkot track. Arpit got out for 63 while Jackson went on to score 147 runs and took the home team to 475 before getting all-out.

Rujul Bhatt and Samit Gohil batted well to take Gujarat to the driver’s seat in the game against Baroda. Rujul is still batting on 70 while Gohil got out for 63 earlier in the innings. At stumps on the second day, Gujarat was trailing by only 26 runs with four wickets in hand. Atit Seth and Bharghav Bhatt picked up three wickets for Baroda. Earlier in the game, Yusuf Pathan (69) top-scored for Baroda to take them to 290 after Siddharth Desai’s fifer for Gujarat.
Railways vs Mumbai

Railways are in dire straits in the first innings against a strong Mumbai unit as they have been reduced to 115/6 at the end of the second day. Arindam Ghosh is their last hope who is still batting on 39. Mahesh Rawat also got off to a good start before getting out to Tushar Deshpande on 30. Mumbai pacers led by Dhawal Kulkarni ran through the Railways batting line-up from the very beginning. Deshpande got three while Kulkarni and Shivam Dubey got one each. Earlier in the day, Dubey scored 114 with the bat while yesterday’s unbeaten batsman Siddhesh Lad failed to get to his hundred as he got out for 99. Mumbai scored a mammoth 411 before being bowled out on the second day of their first Ranji game this season.
