So, here it comes down to this - an India vs Bangladesh encounter in the tri-nation Nidahas Trophy, much to the surprise of many. However, it would not be that easy an encounter as the Bangla tigers will try to get the better of a team that they have failed to beat in seven previous encounters.

Rohit Sharma : While he can be extraordinary at one moment, he can be annoyingly ordinary in the next. After suffering a torrid run of form for quite a while, the Indian skipper showed signs of returning to form and scored a half-century in the last game, but his game is risk prone and sometimes more like the Russian roulette, he successfully self-destructs. He needs to find a balance in the final in order to make sure that there would be no upset.

Shikhar Dhawan : For Gabbar, it seems like all the stars have been aligned at the right places for him now and it takes a special effort for any team to stop the carnage. The rare lapse in the last game must be firing him up to deliver goods and what better occasion than the final of the tournament.

Suresh Raina : For all his majesty in the Indian Premier League, Suresh Raina is still a case study. "He can but he doesn't" has become an adage that he has lived with for a decade now and now in his second coming, he would at least try to live up to the expectations for a longer run ahead. If the last match can be considered as an example, he has it in him to play at least one more 20-overs World Cup.

Dinesh Karthik : The wicket-keeper yesterday confessed that the Nidahas Trophy was a make or break situation for him as one bad tournament could force his way out of the team. However, the newly-appointed Kolkata Knight Riders captain also knows a thing or two about constructing an innings and will have to play a big role if the top-order fails to get going.

Manish Pandey : Consistently inconsistent - a term that has often been used for the very talented Karnataka star, but this series provided him a chance to let the world realize about his immense talent and boy did he just live upto that faith. More than the number of runs he scored, his innings construction has caught the eye and it will indeed be a good sign for India.

KL Rahul : Whenever he has been given chances to open the innings, more often than not, he made the full use of that. But given his chances of opening the innnings are next to impossible in this match, it is upto him to swim or sink. He needs to make full use of the limited opportunities to be in the contention for all three formats of the game and this may be the chance.

Washington Sundar : The Tamil Nadu off-spinning all-rounder is the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with seven wickets and has conceded only eight fours and three sixes in his 16 overs, of which 11 were bowled in the Powerplay. His economy rate in the tournament is 5.87, which is enough to give nightmares to any teams in the world. If Bangladesh harbors any hopes of inflicting an upset, then they have to ensure that they wouldn't be bogged down by Washington's pressure.

Vijay Shankar : When life throws you chances, grab them like Vijay Shankar. He may not have gotten any chance to showcase his batting potential, but his slower balls and slow swingers have resulted in India holding the advantage in most situations. He has also been successful in bowling in the death overs which gave India the cushion of playing more attacking brand of cricket.Jaydev Unadkat : He is sure to replace Mohammed Siraj in the team. The new Rajasthan Royals recruit is the only left-arm bowler in the team and can be a real threat for the Bangla tigers because of his range of variations. Also, he has developed that knuckle ball recently to which the Asian opponents will have to do well to beware of.

Shardul Thakur : While Thakur has been able to assert his dominance in the series, but his problem in the powerplay remained to be a concrrn. However, he is too intelligent a bowler to succumb to the pressure and the knowledge that he has had by playing years of Monsoon Kanga League in Mumbai will help him in the overcast conditions of Colombo.

Yuzvendra Chahal : The legie was brilliant on the South Africa tour, but due to the overcast conditions in Sri Lanka, he failed to be in his usual self and went for runs. However, his variations have been key to many a successful matches for him and the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler knows how to get the things done.
