The Indian team for the upcoming four-Test series against Australia was announced by the BCCI today and the team saw no changes from the 16-man squad that was announced for the one-off Test against Bangladesh last week. India's victory in that Test led to no changes being made to the squad.

There were no surprises in the team announcement today as the BCCI announced a completely unchanged team for the four-test series against Australia beginning next Thursday. This announcement also indicated that Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami are still not completely fit.

India had clinically demolished the Bangladesh side that were playing their first-ever Test on Indian soil, and that victory meant BCCI did not need to make any alterations to the in-form team. The most positive aspect of India's victory was the performance of the fast bowlers. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings and Bhuvaneshwar and Ishant Sharma were on fire the last day. Ishant, especially reminded the viewers fo the Ishant we had seen in 2008 in Perth.

Unless there is an injury scare, the XI for the first Test would is also likely to remain unchanged.
