Steve Smith disappointed with his dismissal vs India
Australian skipper Steve Smith has voiced his disappointment after being given out caught behind to Yuvraj Singh in the match against India on Sunday. Marais Erasmus, the umpire, raised his finger after a confident appeal by Yuvraj and MS Dhoni, but, the Australian star batsman was not convinced.
Talking to the media, Smith said he did not feel anything on the bat despite the Snickometer showing otherwise. “It didn't feel like I hit that but that's the game of cricket. I got given out. It was the umpire's call and that was it. It was a bit disappointing," Smith said.
Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni appealed vehemently after the faintest of edges, and Erasmus judged the Australian captain out.
When asked how Dhoni appealed so loud, Smith politely refused to speculate. "I'm not sure, he might have heard something. I certainly didn't feel anything,” said the 26-year-old who will play together with Dhoni in the IPL with the new side, Rising Pune Supergiants.
Despite showing his discontent before leaving the ground, Smith later took the decision in his stride and accepted the result as part of the game. "It's not the first time and it won't be the last time it happens ... I'm sure it'll happen again in my career so I'm not too worried about it and I'll move on."
"Virat Kohli is an extremely talented and very good player and he has been for a long time he played beautifully," he concluded.
