India remain third in latest ODI rankings
India remained in the third position in the latest ICC ODI rankings released on Sunday with Test skipper Virat Kohli maintaining his second spot in the rankings for batsmen. World Champions Australia retained the top spot, while New Zealand and South Africa also remained at 2nd and 4th respectively.
India had moved to the third position last week after their 3-0 series victory over Zimbabwe and continued in the same position, while Australia, who had 124 points before the tri-series in West Indies, dropped one ranking point , but retained the No.1 spot. New Zealand also remained in the second spot with 113 rankings points, three points ahead of India at third.
England’s 3-0 win the five-match series against Sri Lanka helped them overtake their rivals to move to fifth in the rankings.

In the batsmen’s rankings, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli continued to occupy the first two spots respectively, while England’s Joe Root moved up three places to reach seventh in the rankings. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are the other Indian batsmen in the top 10, at No.6 and No.8 respectively.
In the bowlers’ rankings, Sunil Narine remained at the top of the rankings with players maintaining a status quo in the top 10 positions. Ravichandran Ashwin at No.11 is India’s highest placed bowler in the rankings.
