I am really disappointed about the two no balls: MS Dhoni
After losing a close encounter against the Windies, MS Dhoni expressed his disappointment at the two no balls which denied them two crucial wickets. Dhoni insisted that the Indian spinners were taken out of the game due to the dew at the Wankhede Stadium, which made the toss a major deciding factor.
“I think it was a bad toss to lose. The reason being it was half an hour early start which means when you start by 7, by the time the first innings gets over and the second innings starts – that's the time when the dew starts to set in. When we started bowling, the fast bowlers, I felt the first few overs were not that bad. But once the spinners came, I don't think the spinners had much on offer. That makes it very difficult for us.
“We have a history of not doing very well when it comes to spinners bowling with the wet ball. That has been a big problem for us. One of the world cups we were knocked out because we had one bad game where there was a lot of due. The only thing I am really disappointed about are the two no balls. Other than that, the boys tried their best. We scored over 190, which we believe was a good score looking at the conditions at that point of time. Other than that you have to accept the result,” Dhoni said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
“You have to make a game out of it. If you bring in part-timers at that point of time, Russell or the big hitters will take them on. As I said there was not much on offer. So I wanted the fast bowlers to make a game out of it and then give the part-timers the cushion of the extra five or seven runs and then deal with whatever happens at the death. It was important at that time to make a game out of it I felt they bowled decently if only we could have done slightly better,” he explained.
“It is a demanding format,
“We knew it was going to be a massive step. Out
