The national boxing federation has unveiled its selection policy for big tournaments like the CWG and Asian Games, which will take place between July and September this year. The first set of trials for the women's world championships in Turkey in May would be placed next month, as per the BFI.

Amit Phangal has been ranked no.1 in the men’s 52kg weight category as per the latest rankings released by the Amateur Indian Boxing Association (AIBA). Manju Rani was the highest-ranked women’s boxer, securing the second spot in the 48kg category, while Mary Kom was placed third in her category.

According to a TOI report, the sports ministry probe has revealed that boxer Manoj Kumar competed at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games in 2018 carrying a hip injury. The pugilist was carrying the injury 2016 but didn’t inform about it to the ministry and Sports Authority of India (SAI).

Boxer Amit Panghal has admitted that 2018 has been a wonderful year for him so far as he has won a silver medal in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and a Gold medal at the Asian Games, Indonesia. Amit won the Gold medal by beating the reigning Olympic Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan.
