Muhammad Ali's spokesman Bob Gunnell has confirmed that the 74-year-old boxing great has been admitted to hospital after struggling from respiratory problems. The Louisville Lip, as he was known as, suffers from Parkinson's disease, and has been hospitalized quite a few times in recent years.

"He is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition. A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy,” Gunnell said in a statement, reported ESPN.

The Associated Press has reported that 'Ali's health condition may be more serious than in his previous hospital stays'. The 1960 Olympic Gold medalist was also hospitalized twice in late 2014 and early 2015 with urinary tract infections, and he has increasingly looked weak in his public appearances.
