That brings an end to swimming at the 2024 Games. Was this the changing of the guard? One would argue it was as the US men were able to get just one gold medal at the Games in individual events. They lost their men's team medley title for the first time in EVEVEN Olympics. With the next event in Los Angeles, this might have been the end of the road for a few people. France can be proud of their achievements while Australia can claim to be the best in the world now. All in all though, after Tokyo 2020/21, the sport needed this. And Paris has delivered.

What a day this was for Swimming! 

Kristof Milak started us off with a Gold in the 100 Fly cementing his legacy at the Paris Games. Summer McIntosh beat both Kate Douglass and Alex Walsh before tha later was disqualifed. Just when it looked like it was to be another miserable day for the US, Katie Ledecky did what Katie Ledecky does with another gold in the 800 meters. Then it was the US Mixed team that won arguablly the fastest race of the competition, where all three podium finishers broke records, to bring some gold back for the US. 

There will be four more medals up for grabs tomorrow in the last day of Swimming at the 2024 Paris Games. Do join us then.
