Greg Chappell, looking back at his stint with India, has admitted that the two years he was the coach was a very challenging period for him, calling the expectations ridiculous. Alongside that, he also alleged that Sourav Ganguly didn’t work hard and never wanted to improve his game.

Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif has reckoned that Mohammad Azharuddin played a big hand in the development of Sourav Ganguly and should be credited for molding him as the future leader. He also praised MS Dhoni for winning world titles and instilling self-confidence in the team.

Irfan Pathan has labelled Rahul Dravid as the captain he enjoyed the most playing under and recalled his words of encouragement after India crashed out after the 2007 World Cup. Pathan further added that Dravid asked them out for a movie after the disappointing performance in the World Cup.

Mohammed Kaif has stated that Greg Chappell failed to understand Indian culture properly and that invariably resulted in him failing as the team coach. Kaif has further added that people respected John Wright because he coordinated well and let Ganguly the captain lead the team from the front.
