Former Indian women’s team skipper Diana Edulji has revealed that ex-BCCI president N.Srinivasan once told her that if it were up to him, he wouldn’t let women’s cricket happen. The 61-year-old also branded the BCCI as a male chauvinist organization for their attitude towards women’s cricket.

BCCI CEO Rahul Johri has confirmed that India will tour South Africa for a full-fledged tour putting all the rumours regarding shortening of the trip to rest. Johri has also stated that there has been no development in the context of the women's IPL stating it is a decision to be made by the BCCI.

Mithali Raj has showered her confidence on the Indian women's team and asked them to continue playing the fearless cricket. The Indian side crumbled under pressure against England in the final after being in a commanding position in the match, to miss out on a chance to lift their maiden title.

Mithali Raj has clarified that though it's a privilege for her to be compared with Sachin Tendulkar she would rather be known for her own identity than be compared to any male cricketer. Raj also stated that the televised coverage of the 2017 Women's World Cup helped the team gain due recognition.
