It is human nature to be complacent and try out experiments when you accomplish a milestone. Similarly, Tristan Stubbs lost his concentration after his intent to T20 style play brought down curtains on him as Vishwa Fernando sent his leg stump flying in the second session of the third day.

Extending their healthy lead from the second day, batters Temba Bavuma and Tristan Stubbs seemed like a man on a mission on the third day. The pair converted their start to a double-hundred partnership with both batters notching up centuries. Right after, Stubbs tried to be a tad inventive and in the process, lost his wicket a few minutes before Tea.

On the fifth ball of the 97th over, Vishwa bowled a good length delivery aiming at the stumps to Stubbs who shuffled across way too early to attempt an aerial whip. As he missed the contact, the ball beat the inside edge and knocked off the leg stump that seemed in the air for a while. The pacer had been unlucky in the morning session after a dropped catch and a close shave lbw but had a sigh of relief after bearing the fruits of hard work. The Twitterverse, however, felt the T20 cricketer in Stubbs brought down curtains on his stay at the crease.

What a ball!
